1. There is a law in Russia forbiding to mass rally in busy streets and squares WITHOUT local authorities approval.

Explanation: Russia is a big country with big cities and usually most rallies are held in Moscow which have 15 million people and 5 more million tourists and migrants. It is very hard to keep the crowd moving and there's already traffic conjestion and grid halt. Mass rallies will only make things worse. Why? because they are unemployed wannabe politicians who lost elections and now can't steal State money, they can cry for years and block the streets until they get into government.

2. Navalny is a criminal who stole (entrusted) money from a FOREIGN company which worked in Petrograd. The company sued Navalny in Russia and Russian authorities ON COMPANY'S REQUEST started prosecution, found evidence and convicted the criminal.

Explanation: It was a double-edge sword. If Russia didn't obey the law and company's complain to do research on Navalny, West would cry how Russia is ignoring its corruption problems, and if Russia prosecute the suspect, West again cry how Russia is oppressive and totalitarian.

My opinion: The law preventing rallies without approval is stupid. I would just use police and guards to protect the parliament and other State-owned buildings, leaving the mob to tear down everything in their path; local stores, streets, cars. I don't care. That's their own private property, they can go wild as long they want. If they try to storm the parliament, they get shot by snipers or machine guns like rioters in Libya 2011 and Kiev 2014. When stores and shops complain to the government for damage, government can simply direct them to the Western institutions of justice, like Strasbourg and Hague.

Easy solution, you arrest half a dozen lower level politicians and make an example of them to deter corruption. (You don't go after the leader of the opposition... that confirms both totalitarism and corruption.)

Wait.. what am i doing?

Can't tell if serious here tito

If you are and you have the time to explain, should't the government be protecting private property considering those people are taxed and therefor pay for public services (which I assumed include police protection but maybe that's just the US )

How? How to protect private property and not be portraited as a villain in the western news later? If you arrest them for throwing rocks, Western media report how you strangle free speech, if you arrest them for violating law (like rally law), they again report how you are totalitarian and ban free assembly which is a basic freedom.

That's why i support the 1% folks, they are the smartest. They create gated communities so you can't reach them, so mobs and rallies can only parade in main streets. And if they destroy shops, let's hope those stores have insurance. If they don't, that's their problem and State can't help them and it shouldn't.

I already told you before: if we go communism, we go full communism, and if we go capitalism, then we go full capitalism. Russia was first to leave USSR and reform to capitalism. I was against that because i like status quo, but when it happened, i support capitalism(for my country), full steam ahead. I don't like going back and forth.

You still don't address the real issue here..

Is he a criminal or a politician?
Can he be both at the same time?
Was he first politician and then a criminal or vice versa?

If he was first criminal who turned to politics, how can he be recognized as 'opposition' when he is clearly paying the price for his crime and not his opposition stance?

I addressed the victim mindset... you stated a lose-lose scenario which is easily turned to win-win.

As for the 'real issue,' he's both - as far as i'm concerned, there's no distinction between criminals and politicians. (Damn, i'm doing it again...)
