I usually don't make this kind of threads, but being a great believer in the Rojava federation I find Erdogan's actions unacceptable. With the excuse of supposedly striking against PKK, Turkish air forces killed 20 YPG and 5 Peshmerga soldiers without killing a single PKK member. Suddenly, Turks are shelling SDF-held villages and even started direct clashes at some areas. All while the SDF's main force is facing the bulk of the Islamic State's army in Raqqa. I sincerely hope a total invasion doesn't start but it is looking increasingly like that is Erdogan's main goal.

Helly, not to interject into the small debate you are having with others, but Native Americans are the most impoverished group in the US (alongside poor white Americans on the Appalachians). They get very little support from the government and the reservations are on poorly developed land (part of the US policy during the 19th century to isolate them). Most Native Americans do not have the funds to sustain a lifestyle outside the reservation. Homelessness is also a huge problem for them (even if they get off the reservation, not like they get "special treatment"). The only thing going for some tribes is the casino business (since it's native lands, US law does not apply so their casinos are much more attractable). Many are successful enough to help pay for schooling and college for some native american kids. BUT casinos serve alcohol and Native Americans are genetically more likely to become alcoholics (alcoholism does run in families) and alcoholism is a major problem for native americans.

Again, not to try to get involved in your argument, just want to raise awareness for the plight of these people

If you have 10% native you get free college up to 15k a year, if you are a south western native the land is pretty aweful but we have reservations in Michigan that look like luxury resorts. When I was young we used to go to this fourth of July festival every year and I became best friends with a girl who was native american, I learned alot about there culture from them and how life works as a native, only tribes that wished to remain independent entirely are impoverished such as apaches and chyanne tribes are impoverished because they refused to recognising american sovereignty or our support. But for those that do join the United states such ad the Navajo and Huron tribes they get many special benefiets normal americans do not enjoy. So the misconception is all natives are oppressed while in reality they make up such a small fraction of Americans there is nothing to oppress besides the 14 tribes on 6 reservations that wished to remain independent and refuse aid.
