Hi everybody, I've been working on this map for a while and have realized that I'm in over my head. I wanted to make a map of New York City, my home town, with neighborhoods as countries (I had urban warfare, Revolutionary War, and alien attack in mind). So far, I've put down almost all the countries I want. I wanted boroughs to be general regions (like continents), and Manhattan to be the central and most prosperous continent. I'm still playing with ideas of what cities should be (landmarks? subway stations? large buildings?) and whether subway lines, highways, or large avenues can be incorporated. Also have no ideas on units and how to leave stuff open for people that want to make scenarios on this. Still haven't looked into populations and incomes too much, and don't know how to judge which places would be militaristically the strongest. I've had ideas on units (gangs like in The Warriors, stereotypes of neighborhoods, mobs and SWAT dreams) but I don't know how wacky or realistic to be. Whole Map: I've been hoping these bridges and tunnels are traversable for ships, too, like rivers are crossable for Land Units in some of the maps I've played. Without the bridges, it will be impossible to get off manhattan (the central island) Wondering if I should add more small countries to downtown manhattan to make it even more of a central hub: Wondering if I added too many countries to these boroughs: Brooklyn: Staten Island: Queens: The Bronx: Jersey: Also wondering if Airports should be the only places to get Air Units. If so, should they be single countries, or broken up into multiple countries (terminals) that can be shared or fought over? Maybe cities with tall rooftops can make helicopters. JFK Airport is huge (8 terminals I think): LaGuardia is rather small (4 terminals): Newark is also huge, and as you can see, I couldn't decide where to end Jersey territories: Anyways, let me know if you guys have any comments, suggestions, or you want to collaborate!

Thanks guys, and yeah, Terminal I'd love some of that help I'll PM you later. Runway, don't worry - NYC and LA are completely different (dense vs sprawl) and I bet they could make completely different styles/gameplays. Also, I'd love to hear your opinions on some of the stuff I mentioned above (helicopter pads, airports, highways, parks, bridges). i think i'm going to start adding cities where I imagine strongholds would form if war ever broke out between nyc neighborhoods. your suggestions and comments please!
