I know HP stands for "Health Points", but how does HP work? What does it mean? Thank you.

Each unit has 7 hp normally, and during battle the attack of the attacking unit is dealt against the hp of the defending unit, and the same for the defence of the defending unit on the attacking unit's hp.
Note that the displayed attack and defence values are not the true values, these are the maximum with possible range of attack or defence being anything between 1 and the maximum.

What does tht mean for IF?

It means you have 2 extra hp for each unit.
This equates to an attack/defence boost of roughly 2/7, although the maths I used to work that out is pretty shaky. However it's the only figure anyone's yet come up with.

Yea normal infantry 14 can beat 8 infantry..IF infantry 11 can beat 8 :]

Ahh ok great thanks. So like 3 normal inf with 7hp vs 3 normal inf is 50/50 chance right?
And then 3 IF inf with 9hp beats 3 normal inf with probs 2 left over after attack?
