In the finance view, it says that I have total deficit of about 1700. But every new turn I get a surplus of about 1700. I counted my units and the finance view says that I have about the double of what I actually have.

I've noticed something similar, the income per turn as shown in the bottom bar isn't accurate, as well as the costs sometimes show many more units than I have (I think this conflict with auto produce, though not sure).

Well, the income per turn is about the most unreliable thing, since a) it naturally doesn't take into account the cities you're about to capture this turn and those you're about to lose and b) I don't even think it accounts for the gradual income percentage increase that you get when you control cities on your own turf.

I have also experienced the unit count to be way off, which is I think what OP is saying? It only happens occasionally and seems to fix itself on random turns, so it is not always broken.
