Upgrades with strategy

I have a few SP, and was going to buy +1 range to infantry. My question is, if I use Perfect defense which already gives +1 range to infantry, and I buy the upgrade does it go to +2 range when I use perfect defense?

Well alex, I'm not exactly sure but I think it would. ut if you asl me, buy AA's, because theres always that one dud who uses 55 bombers to kill you
Or you could buy militia, those are always good to havebutthe +1 infantry range is'nt to helpful.

AA's save my ass alot, just keep about 2 in eah citie, so that the noob using 100 bombers can't get a grip on ya

Not sure it's the good topic for such a debate but the only time I saw AA units usefull against 45 bombers was a stack of 20 AA not 2.The game mechanic put the best defense units first in the fight list, so ...

By the way thoses 8 k sp (AA cost if I remember well) have lot of better use with many other upgrades.

Funny. I had 2 AA's destroy a good 40 bombers, sure 1 of em died but my cap. barely took a scratch
But that's when I used PD (which whenever I play with alex, he uses it, so that's why I suggested AA's)

Ok, it's possible , but you need a very good roll : 5.5 def against 3.5 attack (assuming attacker didn't use Sky menace) , so 20 good rolls in a row

With the new combat mechanic, they are a bit more usefull (when you can't use battleship in defence) , but now you can no more destroy 40 units with 2.

I have to check if PD works with AA.
Edit : PD doesn't add any def bonus to AA
