A mechanic that grant your units better roll chances... there is a lot of mystery around it. Here is a compilation of results and questions from some experiments.
What we know:
1. A rough formula includes (att/def sum + stack size).
2. The battle stacking bonus works until 3x the opponent's troops (according to lao, although karl said it's 4.5x in his tests).
3. The bonus is re-calculated after each roll.
4. 2x att/def sum is > 2x stack size in the formula calculation.
5. The bonus isn't shared by allies. Say, you send 50 infantries and your ally send 50 infantries against your opponent's 80 infantries. Then, your units will have their own independent bonus, which is accounted as 50 vs 80 infantries.
6. HP isn't taken into account, which can put strategies such as IF at disadvantage the bigger the stack becomes.
7.?
What we don't know
1. Exact formula.
2. Do the bonus takes into account the in-citiy defensive bonus? The negative bonuses?
3. Do the bonus influences critical as well?
4. ?
