I logged on briefly 56 days ago. I haven't been into Afterwind in a while. Have I missed much?

Oh, jeeze. Is that why there's like, no one on right now? Usually there's at least 30-something on a week night. What exactly happened?

Oh, jeeze. Is that why there's like, no one on right now? Usually there's at least 30-something on a week night. What exactly happened?

well a week night isnt that great because a lot of us have school, and its midnight for me in central, so 1 AM for east coast, not exactly busy times. But mostly its because a lot of people are quitting or going inactive because the lack of effort from the admins has led to a turn off in prouctivity of the players, additions have been made to improve aspects of the game but I still feel like its too late and that atwar has already lost a large number of people. Also the issues that have arose because of the several map maker strikes and the creation of personal ban-lists has sparked constant feuding which just simply turns people away from wanting to play the game, most map makers arent contributing new content, or rather content that they worked on for a while, and thus the community isnt growing. It might get better if html5 were to ever come out but I dont see it coming within the next year.

Hopefully this map I'm making will help. I am putting a lot of effort into this map, so I hope it's worth it! I'm not going to get involved in these strikes or anything that would harm the community, in fact I won't even use a ban list because that hurts the community, as you pointed out.

I guess you mean use HTML 5 for the game since HTML 5 has been out (I was working with HTML 5 when it was just about finished developing a few years ago). Would HTML 5 allow for more players per game? I know that there is degraded performance in larger games.

I am also in CST, I just happen to be on Spring Break & off work for the remainder of the season.

I'm not sure if it's the place I'm staying at or if it's AtWar, but it's taking ages for my map background to save and I only have one country/province without any cities inside.

Little tip, don't ask admins, last time we came to them about a map issue, they never answered, we are kinda on our own as map makers, which is why things like strikes were formed because of an isolated community being threatened and some other political nonsense.

Also I want to make it clear that I do not believe that the strikes and ban-lists were bad ideas, just no executed that well, especially the strike, but then again this is what happens when you leave Tunder in charge.

but all mapmakers feel the crap coming from the new ToS. the strikes caused admins to retaliate and add the new ToS.
