It's been brought up before, but it really needs to be implemented. It's annoying for occupying it and the country is useless without this - It would make italy better and make europe have more naval warfare in the southern parts. Italy is mostly naval but has almost no decent reinforcements in those cities, it needs rome to be coastal so it can provide defense for those cities - those 8 destroyers will really help defense wise for italy.

Bullshit. It has practically extended right the way to Piraeus by now. Officially, they're different municipalities but that has really ought to not be the case now. If anyone knows of any cities that are not coastal in real life though while they are considered coastal in Afterwind, post about them here. It's important the developers are aware of these so they can be fixed
and make the game more difficult for Naval Commander players
.

Doesn't have to be coastal either, y'know. London isn't coastal, but it's on a river and not too far inland. Rome on the other hand, isn't on a river, and is 20 km inland (the centre). http://maps.google.com/maps?q=Rome+google+maps&oe=utf-8&rls=org.mozilla:fr:official&client=firefox-a&um=1&ie=UTF-8&hq=&hnear=0x132f61afa8f0165f:0x400c8c51bf371cd5,Rome,+Italie&ei=9NfvTei2Ooaj8QOa1KnFBw&sa=X&oi=geocode_result&ct=image&resnum=1&ved=0CBsQ8gEwAA

Yes, I did mention that Piraeus and Athens are parts of different municipalities. But in reality Athens IS very much connected to Piraeus not only via major roads but also urban areas, hence why Piraeus is not so much a city on its own now like it was 50 years ago or something. It really is a part of Athens. That's all. Kudos to Amok for making Athens a coastal city.

No, it isn't in any way, there are suburbs of both cities in between, Piraeus is 3rd biggest AND SEPERATE municipality, they have no connection to Athens. I said members of parliament, not mayors, that's why they are special. If anything, in the game there should be 2 cities, Athens and Piraeus that is a port. Athens wasn't and never will be a port, for the same historical reasons Rome isn't a port. Don't speak of a country that you don't reside in and places you've hardly ever been.

It is only a few mile from the coast. Athens is like London or my city. It has several sub-cities. You can group them together as one city. So Aristosseur you are wrong good sir. Case and point.

Sorry bud but the internet does have infinite knowledge, you just have to know where to find it, can't be overly specific either. ButROme as a coastal city would break europe, I mean, n00bs go for naples to get rome, and expierienced players know just to beach their transports, it plays a crucial part in euro games in overall fun and strategy, making rome coastal would be breaking the strategy involved in euro games.

Wikipedia copy pasta The port of Piraeus is the chief port in Greece, the largest passenger port in Europe[3][4] and the third largest in the world,[5] servicing about 20 million passengers annually. With a throughput of 1.4 million TEUs, Piraeus is placed among the first ten ports in container traffic in Europe and the top container port in Eastern Mediterranean.[6] The city hosted events in both the 1896 and 2004 Summer Olympics held in Athens. 3rd largest in the world, try to ignore that and call it Athens Piraeus ( /paɪˈriËÂÉ™s/ or /pɪˈreɪəs/; Modern Greek: Πειραιάς, Peiraiás, [piɾeˈas], Ancient Greek: ΠειραιεÃÂς, Peiraieús) is a city in the periphery of Attica, Greece and within the Athens urban area,[2] located 12 km southwest of its center and upon the Saronic Gulf. According to the 2001 census, Piraeus has a population of 175,697 people within its administrative limits, making it the third largest municipality in Greece and the second within the Greek capital following the municipality of Athens. The Piraeus urban area extends beyond the administrative city limits to the suburban municipalities, with a total population of 466,065. Note, ATHENS URBAN AREA, NOT ATHENS, also it should be about half a million by now The city was largely developed in the early 5th century BC, when it was selected to serve as the port city of classical Athens and was transformed into a prototype harbour, concentrating all the import and transit trade of Athens. Rome shouldn't be coastal, there's 25 km of solid land before its city centre. Athens is a different matter: while not on a river, it is surrounded on both sides by sea, and its suburbs touch Piraeus. The distance between Athens' city centre (according to Google Maps - don't give me any bullshit about Google Maps being wrong, Aristo, you don't have a state-of-the-art GPS to disprove Google) is a mere 5 km from the closest water. So yes, it qualifies to be a coastal city. Case closed, Rome will nt become a coastal city.
