Pretty naive argument to make seeing as social welfare in 19th century America pretty much did not exist. The challenge today is integrating migrants into highly socialized fabric of modern Europe. Europeans expect immigrants to be offered adequate housing, education, healthcare etc… all on taxpayers dime. I believe this is where the concerns are coming from.

Though government can help immigrants to settle and start their business. Help them because they are new in the country. Take Russia for example, only in 2014 Russia recieved 1 million immigrants/refugees from Ukraine who fled civil war. Albanians starter coming in waves of thousands reaching the million pretty fast. Greece could not sustain and employ so many. The supply was so greater than the demand that they droped the wages in all jobs that didnt require much to insane and ridiculous levels. Hundreds of thousand of Greeks went unemployed the following years because they couldnt compete with a slice of bread and an applepie- wage and business owners never cared, all they wanted was cheap labour. The rest of them took up the drug, prostitution, extortion, rape, theft/ robbery road and raised the crime rates to insane levels. They also filled up the prisons where they make the majority now and control everything. Funny thing is now that Greece is in crisis a whole wave of them go back or elsewhere.
The Bangladeshi/ Pakistani immigrant wave in Greece wasnt that lucky. Due to a biggest cultural, religious and colour difference they were limited to 2 jobs here, clean windshields on traffic lights or work in the kitchen/washing sector on bars/ coffeshops and restaurants. They are super weird, they dont care to learn our language and custons and they are dangerously religious.The rest live 20 people in the same house and starve to death or just leave and go to Italy.
The Middle eastern, the educated ones are working in foreign companies or have shops in arab neighborhoods downtown. The rest sell heroin, cigarettes or stolen goods or are forever unemployed stealing and scraping whatever they can find and creating ghettos in the centre. Most are going north now to richer countries, they will prob try Croatia and Hungary before venturing further.

I don't know much about politics but I doubt a whole ancestry will simply forget their country. Since the USA might start getting involved terrorism could be stopped. I think we can agree things are looking glum with Russia backing up some of the countries in mid east.

I mean, my home country takes in significant numbers of immigrants, and has an underpaid and under-equipped police force to deal with them, but crimes conducted by immigrants has never been a problem ever. Not any more than crimes conducted by locals, at any rate.

If you didn't read you're probably ignorant, but a guy's family from the Vietnam war fled to Europe on a ship with his Mum and 89 refugees. Warp into modern day, then are back in Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam. (in the house they used to live in, pre vietnam war)

Because it is all nazi propaganda. Immigrants are cheap labor for Europe and they need them. It is only nazi 'heterophobe' minority which dislike immigrants. Those are usually unemployed punks who doesnt see the gain from it.
If immigrants create crime, that mean country ignore them, which also mean that same country neglect its own population. They allow crime, so small business should be destroyed so corporations can hold monopoly, they need drug dealers because politicians get a cut from it. They need rapes to maintain fear in population to have excuse to fund police and military which protect politicians so they can stay on power as much as they can.
If you need proof, take Italy and Germany for example. Their economies are 80% small businesses, family-owned mittelstand. Because their police fight crime and state protect them from corporations.
