Custom Colors!

So why not custom colors? Here is a image I made to show how it could look! You just hover over your emblem in the top left corner and this pops out.

Is this for color of your country? Wouldn't there be conflict if you have the same color just 1 shade off and you can't tell the difference?

Simple one color goes slightly darker than the other.
Example:
Don't tell me you can't tell the difference because this is the default colors in game right now!

Why not? The more the color the more the possibility of more players in custom maps. Would really benefits maps like New America v1.1 and Age of Empires.

And these are NOT the 256 web-safe colors; and even though, there are many that one cannot see the difference. Definetively it has to be a smaller universe than proposed in the original post.
It would be nice to reconsider a suggestion made before, that premium players can define in their profiles a set of colors:

Columna Durruti

Color 1
Color 2
Color 3
Color 4
Color 5

In the game the color is assigned according to priority. If there is another player that has the same color as first color, the higher ranked player gets it; the other player gets the second color set in his profile...

... or just keep it as it is! Anyhow...

I think we are fine with the colors we have now.

Some colours are already a pain to tell apart in game :/

i strongly support this idea.

+ the system can restrict some sort of range between a player's color and the others' in the same game so that you can't pick similar colors.
As for why to do it, it would add some originality and something new to atWar. The game has been a bit gloomy lately.

Custom colors might make 2 users too close to tell apart, but i do support adding black and gray as colors. What about patterns? Would that give you a headache to look at?

I'm fine with the colors we have, the only problem is that if you want to pick black you have to join a 20 ppl match or an above 10 match to use it. That is the only problem i have with the color system.

I would really like more colours in custom map and I also really, really dislike having to create new players just so I can use a colour at the far end of the spectrum that isn't available.

People must know what I mean? You want Black but it's not available until you've created a few players, given them colours and then black becomes available.

More colours, for sure. Preferably more visible colours too.

I like the idea. I hate joining a game after the start & not being able to pick a colour. Why do I get PINK so often? How can a pink army take over the world???!!!

What if you're colour blind and everything just starts to look gray? There would be way too many shades here.

In fact, let me be honest, sometimes. the other day i was playing one WWII game that divides USA in two parts, both of them blue, and it was hard to differentiate units, also that happens with green.

A lot of the colors CD suggested look a lot like other colors. And I don't think the colors are the restraining factor to having more than 20 players.

Though if they are, a better solution, IMO, is to add patterns to the colors. And there are still shades of gray that aren't used though.
