Not only is it killing map making, but its also weakening the new players.
Yesterday I played a world game as SM Nigeria (50k lol) and there was a rank 7 that walled like Zizou, but used all militia available. Not only that, but when someone said "bomber spam" I replied with "I'm SM" to which the rank 7 said "I dont know what that is, and I dont care".
RP is far more worse for AW than UN. At least in UN there was room to dick around, as well as keeping the regular units. In RP, every country is butchered and all of them have country specific units.
Furthermore, low ranks are becoming accustomed to asking if there are certain rules they have to abide by all game, such as having to declare war, while other low ranks just assume those are the default rules anyway. Its very frustrating being rogue in GGG or Europe.

Agreed, RP can only be played with very few strats. Only LB, Imp, IF, and Blitz can be played, You can try SM, but very expensive. You wouldn't learn to do jack with marines, infs, or walling.
